We are thrilled to share a monumental milestone for our club, our players, and our community. Union FC Indy has officially been accepted into the National 1 League for the upcoming 2026-27 season!
This acceptance marks a significant leap forward in our mission to provide the highest quality training, competition, and player development in the region. Even more exciting? Both our Junior and Senior travel teams—for both girls and boys—will be competing on this elite stage.
What is the National 1 League?
For families looking for a clear, defined path to the highest levels of youth soccer, National 1 is the answer. It is a premier, unified competition platform that brings together the best elements of the former NPL and US Youth Soccer National League.
By merging these platforms, National 1 creates a highly structured, top-tier competitive environment that gives players national visibility while maintaining regional integrity.

Our inclusion in National 1 completely elevates the player experience at Union FC Indy. Here is what our athletes and families can look like forward to this seasonal year:

- Smart, Purposeful Travel: One of the greatest benefits of the National 1 structure is its localized focus. The league is designed to maximize elite competition while minimizing unnecessary, exhausting travel—meaning high-caliber games without sacrificing your entire weekend to the road.
- A Direct Pathway to the National Postseason: The journey doesn't end with league play. Qualifying National 1 teams will earn a prestigious invitation to compete in the ECNL Conference League Playoffs in Summer 2027. From there, top performers will progress alongside ECNL Regional League qualifiers to the ECNL Conference League Finals.
